The short version of how Second Look works and what we ask of everyone who uses it.
Who can join
You must be 18 or older to make an account.
What Second Look is
Second Look connects artists with mentors for sessions about their work and practice.
Mentors give their own opinions. They can’t promise admission, sales, shows or any other result.
Mentors
Mentors set their own prices and hours, and can accept or decline any request.
Cancelling or moving a session
- Either person can withdraw a request until the session starts.
- A confirmed session can be cancelled or moved up to 24 hours before it starts. Moving it makes it a request again, waiting for the other person to accept.
- A mentor who cancels a confirmed session gives a reason.
- Drop-in slots can’t be moved.
Payments and refunds
Payments aren’t active yet, and sessions aren’t charged.

How we ask you to behave
- Be respectful in sessions, notes, messages and reviews.
- Only upload work you have the right to share.
- We may remove accounts, profiles or reviews that break these rules.
Your work
You keep all rights to your work. By uploading it you let Second Look store it and show it to the people you choose, such as the mentor of your session, and nothing more. Mentors’ published work is shown on their public profile.
