Second Look is for emerging visual artists who want a second pair of eyes on their work and their next steps. If you’re an artist, teacher, gallery director or curator with something to share, we’d like to hear from you.
How mentors are chosen
We look for people with real experience in the art world: practicing and teaching artists, gallery directors, curators and others who have helped artists with their work or their careers.
We read every application and reply by email. If it looks like a good fit, we’ll set up a short call before your profile goes live.
What’s involved
Set your hours and your price
You choose when you’re available, how long your session is and what it costs.
Answer every request
Each booking request comes with a short note and images. You accept or decline it.
Meet on video
Each confirmed session gets a video link, and times show in each person’s own time zone.
Other ways to help, if you like
Add office-hours slots, offer written feedback or host a live class.
How mentors are paid
Second Look keeps 20% of each session price. Founding mentors keep more: we take 15%.
Payment processing fees are paid by Second Look, not taken from your share.
Payments aren’t switched on yet. Until they are, bookings on the site are free of charge, and we’ll tell you before that changes.
